Welcome, JIANT-IT Human Resource Development Center (HRDC) in Jeonbuk National University.
JIANT-IT HRDC was established in Sep. 2020 for the 4th generation of the BK21 project. The BK21 is an education project supported by the Ministry of Education, Korea. JIANT-IT HRDC will receive a educational fund of USD 9,000,000 from 2020 to 2027.
JIANT is a comound word of "Jeonbuk" and "Giant", implying our goal; Growing Giant who will lead Jeonbuk with world-class IT technology. The vision of JIANT-IT HRDC is education and research at the IT base that will lead the intelligent agricultural-food technology, renewable energy, and new convergence industries. JIANT-IT HRDC aims to cultivate outstanding graduate students who can lead Jeonbuk Province through high-quality education and research.
The average number of SCIE papers per professor is 2.82/year. The average impacting factor of these papers reaches 3.09 over the past 3 years . The average research fund per professor is USD 200,000/year. 32 intellectual properties have been transferred to industries and 123 patents have been registered over the past 5 years.
JIANT-IT HRDC has signed over 100 family company agreements in Jeonbuk Province, and is closely cooperating with them in education and research. JIANT-IT has resolved more than 10 industrial bottlenecks problems of the family companies per year.
JIANT-IT HRDC currently operates international dual degree program (IDDP) with three overseas universities; Austrailia, China, Cambodia. We are planning to expand the IDDP programs, and hope that interested institutions will participate in our program.
